Osteopathy
Osteopathy believes the body has the innate ability to heal itself. Deeply grounded in science, when injury, strain or stress interrupts your flow, osteopathy guides your body back in the right direction to facilitate healing.
Osteopathy knows that our mind, body & soul are intricately weaved together. It recognises the important dynamic link between structures of the body and the way they function. The interrelated systems of the body, including musculoskeletal, circulatory, nervous & digestive systems, are all fundamental to your individual treatment. Working with a patient-centred approach, osteopathy helps your body find it’s alignment, point of ease & stillness, where the interconnected parts can function together again in harmony & therefore wellness can flourish.

What to expect at your Osteopath appointment
During your first Osteopath appointment, you will be asked questions about your pain, symptoms, injury & problem. With osteopathy’s holistic approach & to ensure safe practice, questions will be asked about your general health including medical history, medications & past injuries.
An examination will be performed with observations, postural assessments, movements and hands-on palpation seeking the underlying cause of your symptoms & pain. Specialist tests or other clinical exams may be performed. For better assessment of posture & movements, you may be asked to remove some clothing (please let us know if this is not suitable for you as we will always work within your comfort zone). If required, you may be referred for X-rays, ultrasounds or to other health practitioners for further investigation.
Your treatment will include a range of hands-on osteopathic techniques including structural, visceral (organs), cranial & biodynamics. Each session will be specifically individualised to suite your situation. Breath work, guided meditation & exercises may also be incorporated into your session & recommended for you to do at home or work to support & empower your healing & recovery journey.
